A LIMS WEB Portal (embedded within the AIMS portal) is provided to access LIMS information, e.g. non numerical information provided in the Non-Spatial information section, or to visualize the quantitative information with a few web mapping tools in the Spatial Information LIMS section (key indicators derived from the LIMS database), or simply read Livestock news about the sector (using news aggregators).

The portal is equipped with up-to-date tools based on WEB 2.0 technologies, e.g. to facilitate networking between stakeholders in member states (Livestock Networks using D-Groups tools developed by CTA), contribute to or edit online collaborative documents (the WIKI-LIMS Manuals).

The various parts of the LIMS portal are devoted to PRINT specific contents on LIMS development in the SADC region (therefore have dynamic contents), i.e. the Regional Training Program, the Regional Studies and the Regional meetings of the LTC and the sub committees.

This portal helps keeping the institutional memory of past meetings and workshops. A member only section is also provided with restricted access, in order to download updates of documents and software’s (including the latest version of the LIMS application).

The Dgroup technology provides for assisting electronic discussions online and through emails

The Dgroup was produced by the CTA and is adopted to run forums of the LIMS networks. An unique email address is used. You must register to the Dgroup before you use it.

WIKI manuals have been developped to allow Member States to contribute and enrich them.
